Tim leaves Effloresce

Hi folks,

we told you that there will be some big news, right? Yes, it is true. Our guitarist and dear friend Tim will leave Camp Effloresce. But without further ado, let the man speak for himself:

(English version)

Dear friends,
this is definitely not easy for me, but due to a couple of changes in my professional and private surroundings I am forced to leave the band.
The changes are: I will be finishing university in June and will start the training period as a teacher in September. This period brings with it horrendous amounts of work and I will most likely have to move to another area. During the last months, I have already had to pull back the throttle on my band activities due to exam preparations. I was not able to put the energy and time into the band that I should have – and that the band would have deserved. Nobody wants to rest on the laurels of “Coma Ghosts”, right? And since I do not want the band to lose pace now that things are going so great, I sat down with the others a while ago and had “the talk”. We discussed options in a friendly atmosphere and agreed on a solution that everyone was fine with. The result of this agreement will be displayed shortly! I don’t want to give too much away, but we already have someone who is currently learning our songs and who is just as passionate about music as me. Thankfully, the band got me involved in the search for a replacement and I can only say this much: He rocks! It was extremely important for me to help in making a smooth transition since I know how much the band lives off of every member giving their fullest and how much the guys and gal have deserved that the band stays on the path of success that we’ve been on since the release of “Coma Ghosts”! I am sincerely proud to have been a part of this band for 3 years, during which we’ve accomplished so much, and I’m proud of every gig we’ve played and every song we’ve written and recorded. I am really thankful that I was able to go along this very important part of the way.
We are going to rock out together one last time on June 16th at the MUZ club in Nuremberg – together with Adjust the Sun, where I played guitar before joining Effloresce. This night will be special in many ways, so please do all come along and see us in our current line-up this last time – and probably with a very special guest on board!

Tim

(German version)

Liebe Freunde,

Tim

We would like to add that we are incredibly lucky that Tim was a part of Effloresce history and shared so many great moments with us! Countless laughs, empty bottles of beer, amazing moments and last but not least his contribution to Coma Ghosts and lifting the band up to new heights will always be a huge part of Effloresce history. Also, it was also due to his understanding and cooperation that we were able to make the smoothest transition we could possibly ask for. Here’s to you mate, gonna miss you very much!

As Tim said, we are already training a successor. Again, we were incredibly lucky to find a guy who has the chops and the humour to jump into the boat! His identity will be revealed soon, so stay tuned!

Effloresce returns to MUZ-Club on 16 June 2012

Hey there,

well, in case you haven’t caught it yet: We’re sorry to announce that this year’s Fused Festival in Lydney, UK, has been cancelled. Of course it sucks, but be sure that we won’t bury our heads in the sand now. We’re gonna drink some beers to wash away the shock, and are optimistic that we can play over there when the time is right. We sincerely would  like to thank Huw, organizer of the festival, for putting us on the list! Better luck next time, mate!

So, one gig cancelled, but the next one is already in the making: We will play at Nuremberg’s MUZ-Club on June 16, together with our friends from Adjust the Sun! That’s right, the very location in which we had an awesome evening celebrating the release of our album “Coma Ghosts”. Like the last time, it will not be a regular gig there, but a very special and memorable evening for us. At the moment we cannot say why, but it will definitely be an one-of-a-kind thing again, so make sure not to miss this one. There will be some BIG news coming soon…

As a last point, we need your help again :-) ! It’s again time to vote for us over at www.musikzentrale.com/regionalcharts/. You can vote on a daily basis for “Swimming Through Deserts”, so that the song climbs to the top of the regional music charts! So show some love and help us to get the word out. Thanks a bunch in advance!

Stay tuned…

Tobi

Lots of cool stuff: Gigs / Radio / Magazines

Hey folks!

Well, it’s been a while…and some cool stuff happened since our last post. We have announced some suprises for the future, and this is definitely one of them:

Effloresce is a featured band in the upcoming issue of German music magazine “Zillo”! And since we’re not up for half-assed stuff, there is not only a review and a (really nice!) feature in the magazine itself, but you will also find a radio edit (?!) of “Crib” on the mount CD that comes with the mag. Pretty epic stuff and we’re honoured. Thanks to the guys over at Zillo, show some love and buy at least the upcoming issue Nr. 05/2012! Here’s what it looks like:

No surprise, but a little reminder: We’ll rock out at Kulturcafé in Groß-Gerau in a few weeks. May 12th is the day, and we will join the (almost) all female metal band ARVEN. Would be really cool to see some of you guys rock with us! Here’s the official flyer:

Another pretty cool event will take place next week: On April 26th Effloresce will be a special guest in a local radio show called “Frankenflüsterer” on afk max in Nuremberg (www.afkmax.de). This show will cast some light on the very beginnings of the band, previous projects of respective members and some other cool things you might want to know about us! So whoever lives in the Nuremberg-area or speaks German and wants to listen to it via web-stream: You’re more than welcome, people! Tune in at 10pm and enjoy!

And wait a minute! Didn’t we just play another cool show last Friday? Hell yeah we did! The Luise in Nuremberg saw another show of the Generation Prog-Live concert series, and we’ve had the pleasure to play with our label mates Relocator, as well as fabulous instrumental-act Counter World Experience and the renowned German Prog-Force Dreamscape. Pictures of the evening will follow soon. For the moment, feel free to have a look at some photos our good friend Henry Crescini took this evening over at facebook: Generation Prog 13.04.2012

Cheers
